• What is Astrology?

The study of the stars and how they effect the earth, human life and destiny. Every country, every illness, every object has its own fate and this is effected by the stars. Astrology is has many branches; prediction, psychoanalysis, weather forecasting, karmic astrology, health astrology to name but few. Astrology is not superstition neither is it   science, it is a vast metaphysical knowledge with its own  rules measurements and laws.

• What is my Sign?

Correctly a 30 degree segment of the Zodiac. Each is named after one twelve of the constellations. It would be nice if the sky could be divided up into equal portions this way with one of the twelve signs in each, it is not that simple. More can be read from works by Allen, R. H. (Star Names, their Lore and Meaning. New York 1963) and Cyril Fagan (Zodiacs, Old and New. London, 1951).

Your birth sign is according to the date on which you were born;

• I do not know my time of birth, is this important?

An accurate time of birth is crucial to an accurate natal (radix or birth) chart. An hour will usually make a big change in a chart, five or ten minutes out can often mean the difference between true or incorrect information being drawn from it. If you are not sure of your time I can perform a rectification of your birth chart.

• what is rectification?

If you accept that everything that happens to you can be found on your birth chart, then it follows that if you know the events and when they happened your chart can be spun around in time until everything clicks into place.

• what do I need to tell you to calculate my actual time of birth?

I need major events, accidents, the loss of those close to you, childbirth, that sort of thing. Also the date on which these events took place.

• what is the difference between a Marriage chart and a Soul mate chart?

In this case nothing, it is a personal view. I will describe the person who will make a great impact on your life, it is your choice to marry and make it a legal partnership. 

• the price seems high, can I get it cheaper?
• the price seems low, how can you do as you say for the money?

The prices shown will be what I feel is a fair and honest price to pay for what you receive. I can not charge simply by the hour, that would be complex and too expensive for many. Ivarna's policy is to give everyone the opportunity to have access to quality astrology at reasonable cost.

All my work is done on an individual basis, I do not use any computerized reports that are available off the shelf in the astrology world, these specialist chart readings can only be found direct from Ivarna or an authorized international agent (agents are often wanted in new locations to offer translations to clients).

I have many clients around the world, from those on welfare benefits to millionaires. A few can afford to pay a much higher sum than is usual, thus can occasionaly request immediate attention.  Some find the minimum fee difficult, but I am not able to work for nothing, nor do I demand extortionate fees in return for a page of waffle. I try to be fair and the great number of clients that keep writing year after year are a testament to this. I have reprinted extracts from some of their letters for you to read.

My, what a pessimist you are! Yes, no work, no fee. In very rare cases the chart has what is called an affliction, an unfortunate planet aspecting the marriage house. When there is only one affliction, the person will still encounter love at some stage, when there are two or three the person may travel throughout their lives lonely without a partner.  In which case I do not simply prepare you a Soulmate Chart but explain the particular affliction on your chart, and, if I can, how to overcome it. 

  For example a shy person may know his chronic shyness has prevented him meeting girls, but only his chart will show him the pattern's psychology that has lead up to it, and how to remove that blackness. Charts and destiny can always be worked on and it helps, but this is really going into the sphere of other, complex readings.

Spiritually all things are linked I find that if you are drawn towards this site, it is often because the time is getting close to when you will meet your true soul mate. Most people who write do find they are due to meet their soul mate or partner in the fairly near future.

The first step in finding anything is in having a description, then you know what your looking for. Astrology works on many levels. Astrology is not magic, it is said that our subconscious mind engineers our own destiny, I believe that deep down we all know who our Soul Mate is. We know our own future in fact, and the chart just reflects this.

• what is Karma?

Karma, put simply, is cause and effect, or action and reaction. The influence of past over present and how actions in a past life, predetermined the conditions in your present life and character. Each life we live shapes our character and our future destiny in a way we seem to have little control over but are entangled with inescapably

• how can a previous life help me in this one?

If you can understand your karma and fate and the lessons that life is teaching you. Then you can begin to work with that karma to improve and change your present life if you want to. Good things can happen to you. Understanding alone is sometimes enough to bring a profound yet subtle change. At other times you have to work on the Karma before change is possible.

• why do you need my birth date and time?

This is Karmic astrology and your birth time is needed to draw up an accurate chart. If it is not known see rectification

• I'm having a hard time with relationships, I always end up with the same type of person, can Karma help me understand this?

Yes. Patterns from past lives often repeat in this life.

Online at the Shop page. You can order by post with send a cheque, Postal Order or money order with your letter, contact Ivarna for postal details. All charts must be paid for in advance. I will need your date, time and town of birth.

• can I be sure that my credit card details are secure when I order Online?

When you click the Buy button you are taken to PayPal's secure website to complete your payment, this website takes no payment details.

• I live outside the UK, can I pay in the currency of my own country?

When your use your credit or debit card at PayPal you may be given a choice and you will be able see exactly what the cost in that particular currency.

• I ordered a chart Online but have received nothing from you, how long should I wait before contacting you? How long will it be before the chart arrives

As all charts are done individually taking sometimes many hours to complete, inevitably a queue build up, so please allow 28 days for your chart to arrive. Please contact me at any time by email to check on delivery time.

• How will I receive my chart reading.

I will send your chart by email, so it is important your PayPal email is the same one to receive your reading. It is usually attached in MS Word format. All attachments are scanned prior to sending for known viruses, but you are advised to check all attachments and downloaded files before opening them. Due to the uncertain security of email Ivarna can accept no responsibility for damage or any corruption of data due to the use of the attached files, you should always scan attachments before opening.

• can I order more than one chart reading?

You can order as many as you wish but you may need to make another order as only one chart can be purchased at one time.

Chart Reading

• What is my ascendant?

The sign rising above the Eastern horizon at your moment of birth ( e.g. 9 degrees of Leo rising). As it changes every four minutes it is vitally important to have correct time of birth.

• what is my ruling planet?

Each sign is linked to a planet, or planets, and is said to Rule or have Lordship over the sign. There has been some difference in opinion here but my experience shows the following rulers, major first and minor;

It would be nice and neat if there were 12 planets for 12 signs, but life is never so simple.

• what are houses or Mansions?

The twelve divisions of the natal or birth chart. Starting at the Ascendant going anti clockwise, each house has it's own character, e.g. the eighth house is the house of death, or the occult house. An astrologer can analyse the houses, the signs and planets within each, to reveal an unlimited amount of detail about the person, this is how astrology is done. The junction of the signs are known as Cusps. 

• what is Synastry?

Comparing two charts with one another to show compatibility, and how any relationship between the two people will evolve.

• How can I learn more about astrology? can you teach me?

  There are many good books and courses available to those with the willingness to learn but it is my view that it takes more than these to make a real astrologer. There has to be a degree of talent or natural ability to build on, or an genuine  inner desire. If you have this and need advice on how to progress I will be pleased to help but I do not offer lessons in Astrology.

• Is a Sesquiquadrate two couples out for a good time?

No. It is an angle of 135 degrees, this aspect between planets is unfortunate. See Aspects.

• What's the Dragon's Head/Tail?

The Dragon's Head, another name for the North Node of the Moon, a point at which the Moon crosses the ecliptic into the north latitude, showing good things, depending on it's position in the chart.

Dragon's Tail, the South Node, not usually good, indicating difficulties.

• What's the Part of Fortune?

Not a planet but a point which is the result of a bit of astrological maths (that is something computers can do so well) and can show good luck or otherwise depending on it's placement.

• What is an Aspect?

An angle between two points of the chart, planets, houses, signs. There are 360 degrees in the chart, a 120 degree aspect is a trine, and usually good. A 90 degree aspect is a Square, usually not good. They are important so I will list them here, as described by Fred Gettings [Dictionary of Astrology-1985];

• What is a Transit ?

Planets passing over other planets or points in the chart, used to forecast how the life of the person will develop.

• Explain Horary

Hour, time. Used to find answers to questions asked at a particular moment in time.

• What is a Cusp

The junction between houses, Cuspal indicates border-line.

• What is an Ephemeris used for?

Astrological ephemeris used to place the planets in their respective positions in the chart. Now this can be done using computers (praise be to the PC), what once took hours can now be done in seconds, leaving the astrologer to do what he or she should be doing; analysis, synthesis.

• Nadir?

Six o'clock on the chart. Opposite the Zenith, at the top.

• Natal chart / Radix?

A birth chart, a representation of the heavens drawn up for the time of birth. Sometimes known as a radix or Horoscope.
